Fireworks viewing at Sea (w/ Nami)

Description

Week 3 of the Battle Royale.

I'm not 100% satisfied with the result. It definitely could have gone better, but I was running out of time.
Work is piling up, and it doesn't help when there is a huge backlog of requests to do.
I think I need to consider starting commissions soon...

Shame this was rushed, I feel like with a bit more time you could have really tightened this up better. The fireworks are very well done in this. It feels like how a firework would actually go off. I feel that the reflections of these colors on the water is a bit too blocky however. Just as the colors in the sky overlap, so should the colors on the water. But they need to be broken up and used more in the highlights than whole sections of water.

I also noticed that most of this picture feels as if it's blurred with small areas of sharper focus in detailing. You don't seem to have much of this issue on the mermaid however, which compared to the rest of the picture seems to be coming off the screen with it's nice sharp edges and highlights. It feels like you might not have had time to do this with the rest of the picture however which is unfortunate because the mermaid is quiet well done. In matters of anatomy, you seem to be having some issue with attaching legs to the pelvic area on both the Jinx character and the male in the boat. I also can't tell is the male is crossing his legs, has turned his pelvis towards the viewer or is sitting with one leg just propped up. I think this is due to the blurriness of that area. Ironically, I would recommend blurring out things in the distance more for a better feeling of perspective.

So to recap, over all I think this is a well composed piece and the mermaid is beautifully done, but I would recommend studying how colors reflect on choppy waters, tightening up your focus points of the characters in the boat and blurring things in the distance, and working on legs a bit more.
